All associate pathways are designed to prepare students to transition to bachelor’s degrees in their chosen majors. Both academic and personal resources are available to help all associate students explore their interests and move forward successfully toward their goals.

The Pathway+ program is limited to the Gainesville and Oconee campuses and to specific programs that combine several related areas of interest under a single name, such as Behavioral Sciences (Criminal Justice/Psychology/Sociology/Social Work). Components unique to Pathway+ include Learning Communities and a first-year experience course.

The Oconee campus offers three Pathway+ options (hyperlink): Behavioral Sciences, Education, and Business. For students who are not sure about choosing one of these pathways, Oconee also offers General Studies, an option to support students in exploring other interests. Students can also transfer to the Gainesville campus to pursue an associate pathway that matches their interests but is not offered on the Oconee campus.

The Pathway+ program is not available on the Cumming campus at this time.

When the same group of students share two or more classes, they boost their chances of academic success by sharing class information and forming study groups that support higher grade point averages. First year experience classes are attached to the Learning Communities and provide valuable information for college success.  

Learning Communities also offer opportunities to engage in college activities with peers and form lasting friendships!
