The Executive Branch includes SGA President, Senate Chair, Vice Presidents for each campus, and Directors. The Executive Board oversees all SGA efforts and represents students on university-wide matters.
President: The SGA President acts as the administrative head for the entire organization.
- Represent the student body at official school functions.
- Meet with Executive Council at Scheduled Weekly Meetings
- Shall be an ex-officio member of all standing, and special committees of the Student Government Association.
- Serves as the official representative of the student body and sends a delegate when necessary.
- Is responsible for regular communication with the University President and the Cabinet.
Senate Chair: The Senate Chair serves as the primary leader and facilitator of the Senate. This individual ensures the effective operation of Senate meetings, promotes collaboration among senators, and serves as a liaison between the Senate, the SGA Executive Board, and the student body. The Senate Chair is responsible for upholding the mission of SGA by fostering an inclusive environment where senators can advocate for student needs and concerns.
Vice President(s): The Campus Vice President is the lead administrator of their local campus and represents the ideals and initiative of the President and their executive council. The responsibilities of this position are:
- Directs all respective campus Student Government body meetings
- Meet with Executive Council at Scheduled Weekly Meetings
- Attend any University committees they are appointed to serve on
- Actively engage in enhancing and improving the student experience on their respective campus
- Must serve a minimum of eight office hours per academic month.
- Have in-person courses on the campus that you serve
Director of Diversity & Inclusion: The Director of Diversity & Inclusion fosters a diversity-friendly environment in SGA and advocates on behalf of minority or unserved populations. The responsibilities for this position are:
- Oversees all Commission Senators for Diversity & Inclusion
- Meets with the Chief Diversity Officer of the University
- Provides reports and inputs to the Executive council to ensure advocacy for all person(s) of the 大象传媒 Student body
- Oversees the development and implementation of programs and services that promote diversity within the Student Government Association
- Ensures a collaborative and inclusive environment within 大象传媒
Director of Marketing and Communications: The Director of Marketing and Communications works to develop a brand for SGA and make sure that SGA is being open and transparent with communications to the student body. The responsibilities for this position are:
- Shall oversee all marketing and branding efforts for the consolidated SGA.
- Shall oversee taking and distributing minutes and attendance at Executive meetings.
- This person preferably has knowledge and experience in managing social media, creating marketing materials, and branding campaigns but not required.
- Oversee the public relations and marketing efforts for the consolidated SGA including but not limited to informing students about the programs, resources, initiatives, and/or enacted legislation sponsored by SGA.
- Shall provide direction and leadership for campus-based Communications Chairs
Director of Elections: The Director of Elections works to ensure impartiality, enforcing governing documents, and coordinating the execution of elections. The responsibilities for this position are:
- Serves as the chairperson for the Elections committee.
- Record votes at Executive meetings.
- Charged with the responsibility of enforcing and maintaining the Constitution, Bylaws, and Election code of the SGA.
- Organizes all necessary materials and coordinates all personnel for the efficient and prompt execution of the General Election, and all other SGA elections
- Shall provide direction and leadership for campus-based Elections Chairs
Director of Finance: The Director of Finance oversees the enforcement of the financial guidelines of SGA. The responsibilities for this position are:
- Oversees the Student Government Association’s budget, ensuring transparent and responsible allocation of funds.
- Prepares and assists with budget allocation process for student organizations and departments.
- Is responsible for the dissemination of proper financial information to the Finance Chairs and campuses.
