Geomatics Graduate Certificate

This certificate strives to meet the demand for highly skilled and educated land surveyors and geomatics professionals in Georgia. Geomatics is a rapidly changing field that is always incorporating the latest technology to improve accuracy and precision in spatial data collection. The Department of Labor Occupational Handbook predicts faster than average growth in this field over the next decade.

The University of North Georgia Graduate Certificate in Geomatics includes all of the coursework required for the state of Georgia's surveying licensing process at the graduate level.

Requirements

Baccalaureate from an accredited institution (as defined under Accredited Institutions in the Academic Information section of the ) with a minimum grade point average of 2.50 calculated in accordance with Graduate Admissions procedures. If a program applicant holds a master’s degree, only the transcript showing the master’s degree awarded is required for submission to Graduate Admissions.

Applicants without a minimum grade point average of at least 2.50 calculated in accordance with Graduate Admissions procedures may request permission to apply from the department by submitting a personal statement detailing the reasons why the program should admit the student and the steps the student will take to ensure success in the program.

Completion of undergraduate surveying courses equivalent to the Georgia Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors’ 2018 Land Surveying Education Evaluation Policy requirements S1 and S2 or completion of ENVE 5221K and ENVE 5222K
